Secrecy?

Firstly, there is a difference between a temple and a regular meeting house. In a meeting house we meet weekly for worship and to take the sacrament. Temples are set aside for special ordinances that are not open for public viewing.

Mormons do not generally discuss temple worship among non-Mormons. Even among ourselves, there are aspects of temple worship we do not discuss outside the temple. At most they are referred to indirectly.   Continue reading →

  1. Question: do you live in the Old Testament or the New Testament? Either way you are on the horns of a dilemma. It all hinges on the veil being rent in the temple (Matt. 27:51). This shows there was no longer a need for a priesthood or blood sacrifices - hence no longer a need for the temple. Consider Acts 7:48-50 and 17:24 where Paul says God no longer dwells in temples made with mans hands - Why? 1 Cor. 3:16 and 6:19 says that Christians are NOW the temple of the Holy Ghost. In Matthew 12:5-6 Jesus said he was greater than the temple and in Matthew 23:38 he said that "your" house had been left desolate (God had left the building) - So does this mean that Mormons live in the Old Testament where God did have temples? If so - the restoration of Old Testament temples would mean a continuation of blood sacrifices which would indicate that Christ's sacrifice on the cross was inadequate - which is heresy. But if you do maintain that today's Mormon temples (based on Solomons example) are a "restoration" then one would expect to see goats, bulls, lambs and doves to be ready for sacrifice. Such is not the case. Hence - your dilemma. Personally I think you should adhere to the New Testament concept - recognize that Jesus' blood is sufficient to cleanse you of your sins and dispel with your temples - because God is not in them and they only serve as monuments to the stupidity of man. Jesus now dwells within his Church and his Church are when 2 or 3 are gathered together in his name - it's not an organization but an organism of true believers in the real Jesus of the Bible (Not the spirit brother of Lucifer, the creation of Heavenly Father having sex with his spirit child Mary - this too is blaspheme). I hope my comment will be received in the spirit in which it is given - in love. Paul said - Am I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth? Please Please Please - read the Bible by itself. Read the Book of Hebrews and discover that you hold neither the Aaronic or Melchizedek priesthoods. Humble yourself before the cross of Jesus, and cry out to him that he will wash you clean by his precious blood. Pray directly to Jesus as Steven did in Acts 7:59, confess your sins and repent of them to Jesus and then you can call him Lord.
Matthew 24 says that in the last days there will be many false prophets leading many astray. Joseph Smith will stand before Jesus and will be judged just as you and I will. As a Mormon - you must fear God (not become one) and you must fear Outer Darkness because it is very real. May the Holy Spirit convict you of sin and comfort you as you decide to follow Jesus and not a man made religion. God Bless You in your search for truth.
